As usual, the transition from one tax year to another meant we were extremely busy here at EPS during April 2019. Although the introduction of RTI has made life easier in terms of reconciling annual payroll reports there are still many tasks which must be considered including:
- Providing employees
- with their P60s
- Making final RTI
- submissions to HMRC
- Uplifting Tax codes
- Uplifting pension
- rates in accordance with new minimum contributions
- Rolling software
- into new tax year
- Preparing P11ds
It is also a time of year when new clients come to us, often with urgent or last minute requests, looking for a new payroll provider for the new tax year. We were pleased to add four new clients from April who are now enjoying our fully managed payroll service. We always do our best to accommodate new clients now matter how last minute their requirements may be. We believe going the extra mile reassures our new clients and stands us in good stead for a long lasting partnership.
Although this busy time of year presents some challenges we pride ourselves in working together as a team to ensure all our clients requirements are met – and often exceeded. Our employees have many years of payroll experience which means they have been through Year End many time before and are well versed in dealing with the challenges it presents. Although this is a demanding time of year for payroll professionals it can also be very rewarding and our clients certainly appreciate the additional effort we put in.
All Year End tasks must be completed along with April payrolls which is probably the biggest challenge we face here at EPS but we are all extremely proud to say we made it through another Year End and the team will certainly be celebrating with a well deserved night out before we begin May payroll cycle!
